Lakeview Feature Teacher: Monika Bevans
Ms. Monika Bevans is one of our fabulous 3rd grade teachers at Lakeview. This is Ms. Bevans first year teaching and she is absolutely amazing! Over the past few weeks, she's taken the time to work with the building instructional coach on several ongoing projects. The two of them have been collaborating with the team for a shared student to ensure consistent, aligned, and targeted instruction. Ms. Bevans has been open to recording her lessons and sharing this with the team to discuss best practice in all settings. Ms. Bevans and the instructional coach recently worked more on the specific lesson components and plan for the student when working with her in 3E. They have also used the Literacy Continuum to set goals for her other guided reading groups to support her focused instruction. As they've worked through her groups and schedule, Ms. Bevans asks great questions and is always willing to make changes and try new ideas to best support her students. She has amazing connections with her students, and her class and our staff are both so lucky to have her!
